OVERVIEW AND BENEFITS

In 2010, the AAMC, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, Association for Standardized Patient Educators, and American Association of Colleges of Nursing surveyed 133 medical schools and 263 teaching hospitals to learn how they were using simulation for education and assessment and to determine its operational impact. The data show that medical schools and teaching hospitals are exploring and adopting simulation to enhance learning at all stages of medical education.
